Health and Safety Services is very proud to announce the following successes in a number of nationally recognised awards.
GOOD NEWS 1: The Occupational Health Awards are held each year by the 'Occupational Health' magazine; the professional publication for the greater Occ-Health profession.

The Awarding Panel were exceptionally impressed by Bangor's performance and activity in the areas of Health Promotion and Well-being and to quote Dr Charlie Vivian, Director of Quality NHS Plus and Category Judge:
"Bangor's quality of presentation far exceeded the other entries... Excellent leadership was demonstrated. Health assessments were conducted, resulting in assessments of smoking, alcohol, diet, exercise, back pain and mindfulness..."
High praise indeed, reflecting the hard work
made with regards to the leadership and championing of health at work and which resulted in Bangor University being awarded:

- Best in Category Award - Health Promotion and Well-being
GOOD NEWS 2: The North West Wales Health and Safety Group, a Group facilitated by Health and Safety Services were awarded the following by Safety Groups UK (an organisation whose mission is to ensure health and safety groups are key players in the UK health and safety system, and in the delivery of the UK health and safety strategy):
- Winner - Category 2, Best Overall Programme
- Highly Commended - Category 3, Best Seminar / Workshop
